Risk Management Interest Group Mission:
Impart knowledge, information, and expertise on Risk Management subjects.
Promote and encourage networking opportunities – develop a community of those interested in Risk Management within the Society.
Act as a Risk Management resource for those inside and outside of the CPCU Community.
Encourage ethical behavior in business transactions.
The CPCU Society Risk Management Interest Group (RMIG) is one of 14 Interest Groups at the CPCU Society. RMIG’s core focus is addressing the concerns of Risk Managers. We understand that for some companies & segments of the industry, insurance is only part of the solution, not the entire solution. We work closely with our colleagues in the 13 other interest groups and over 120 Chapters to deliver webinars, seminars, articles & networking events to address concerns such as:
- loss trends
- captives structures & uses
- alternative risk solutions (ARS)
- emerging underwriting concerns
- loss prevention/reduction methods
- changes in the global marketplace
- large deductible/fronted program structures
- developments in technology such as artificial intelligence and blockchain.
The CPCU Society was formed in 1944 as a non-profit, member based organization with a vision to raise the educational and professional standards of the property and casualty insurance business. Today there are over 17,000 members and over 5,000 active volunteer leaders running the society, alongside the staff of The Institutes. The Risk Management Interest Group is a small part of this vast network of insurance professional.
